Our Story

Astra Shadow was founded in 2014 by Clare Merchant, a financial educator who spent years watching people struggle with basic money management despite having access to countless resources. The problem wasn't a lack of information—it was that most financial advice felt inaccessible, overly technical, or disconnected from real life.

Clare saw friends making the same financial mistakes repeatedly: taking on high-interest debt for purchases that could wait, neglecting emergency funds, or feeling paralyzed by fear when making financial decisions. She realized that what people needed wasn't more information—they needed guidance that actually made sense for their lives.

Starting from a small office in Bristol, Astra Shadow began offering straightforward financial guidance focused on fundamentals. No complex investment strategies or get-rich-quick schemes—just honest, practical support for managing money better. The approach resonated. Within two years, word-of-mouth referrals had grown the practice substantially.

Today, we've helped thousands of individuals and families improve their financial situations.
